Image analysis - Find where part of and image came from

So I have a challenge for you OcUK.

How can an image analysis be ran on this to find out WHAT these stairs belong to? I'm quite sure it's an aircraft but I need to know which one. So is there anything out there that will actually recognise image paterns and point me to websites etc where the full image is posted?

I've come across TinEye but it's not the correct type of software to use... question is can anyone here decipher it?

There probably is something like this for local cataloging, but to work over the internet it would need to have analysed every image on the net already which going by search engines doesn't work very reliably as yet.

I'd suggest that the modern way is a web 2.0 community based search algorithm hosted in the cloud ;) i.e. post the pic on an aircraft forum and sooner or later someone will be geeky enough to know the answer or even give you a link to the original. At least this method seems to work with antiques, nude models and IT anyway. Good luck.
