Image stacking in Photoshop - Multi Core usage?

Need a new Mobo and i was considering a new CPU too as its being sold as a bundle

out of a few particular tasks that COULD benefit this 6+6 core cpu is photoshop

particular is the image sacking on macro images
It is probably my favourite area of photography and i do find this process to be a time consuming one

i was wondering if anyone knows if photoshop can use 6+6 cores for this task?
with my desktop out of action i have no way to test!

No idea for a 6 core but I would imagine so, it definetly uses my 8 (4 HT'd) cores on my i7

I can also see my i7 whizzing away on all 8 when PS is doing stacks or HDRs etc so I'd imagine it probably does! Get Googling
