Imageready "assertation has failed"?

Just tried to save a .gif animation i created using image ready 7.0 and everytime i do i get the error message that "could not complete this operation as assertation has failed". Exploring the problem further there are no updates for image ready that i havent installed and that this also happens with the "open" and regular "save" along with "save optimised as".
Any ideas? I'm using the software on XP SP2
