imaging from GHOST: problem

I have a HP 2730p laptop which im trying to image from a USB key which has the image on.
the laptop boots fine from the USB device, and loads up Ghost. when navigating to the path of the folder, it can not find any files.
ive confirmed the files are definitely there, and ive even selected to view 'all files' but it is under the impression that no files exist in the folder.
Ghost ver 8.0, and image was also created with the same versions
Any ideas please?

Is the USB formatted as FAT32 or something else?

Version 8, WOW, thats old.
My guess is that the stick is formated at NTFS and Version 8 cant read it.
Currently on v11.5 btw.

ok, i just booted the same key with the image on a different laptop (Dell), and it booted fine and i was able to view the files on the dell laptop.
Now im completely lost!!
by the way, the key is formatted in FAT32, but now the other laptop is picking it up, i just can fathom why the HP is not?!
