what do you guys use? does Acronis have any competition at all?

currently looking into Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server with Universal Restore Bolt on.

I'm currently using Symantec System Recovery but I've used ShadowProtect, Paragon Drive Backup and Ultrabac Gold in the past.

All these apps can image to dissimilar hardware. I found support for Acronis can be hit or miss but support from ShadowProtect or Ultrabac has always been good.

I've not had any problems with System Recovery and it working well alongside Backup Exec.

The Acronis product seems to talk the talk and I am looking at it for some P2V stuff as the pricing is reasonable.

Not looked at anything else but would also be interested in hearing other peoples experiences.

The HP P2P product works quite well if you are going to a HP server.

For P2V I would look at Platespin, it's suppose to be really good.

I'm not 100% sure on this but I think HP P2P product is just re-branded Platespin software.

Platespin is indeed awesome, had a long convo with them on the phone about thier products capabilities.

Not cheap though
