IMAP and Exchange clients to same mailbox problem

Morning,

Hopefully a quick one..

I have a problem where I have a Director using Mac Mail client (mavericks) using IMAP to connect to Exchange 2003 mailbox. His PA uses Outlook 2010 Exchange connector to the same mailbox.

The Mac Mail client is having problems with emails disappearing. Except the emails are still present in OWA and on the users mobile device.

The only thing I can think of is that the mobile device (iPhone Exchange connector) and/or PA's Outlook is doing something to the messages (especially if read on those first) to make them not be picked up by IMAP?

Any thoughts/ideas?

ddi you ever get anywhere with this?

I can only assume its nothing more than a comparability issue with the MAC/IMAP/Exchange 2003 combination.

we have MAC users with IMAP on Exchange 2013 (2010 before that) without these issues.
