Which do we think is the better list?

I'm thinking I'll watch one list or the other at some point myself, go through the list and rate them myself.

But which do we think is the better of the two lists.

Having looked through both, I'm slightly more inclined by IMDb's, the Empire list seems to be horrifically underrating some films. For example Transformers > Green Mile makes absolutely no sense what so ever...

The problem is I have seen some nonsensical stuff on both lists. IMDB constantly has swathes of people voting down good films because they dont like one actor, or voting up crap films for the comedy value. Empire I read regularly but their rating is 5 stars, so not amazingly accurate or easy to have one above another.

Any list that rates Juno and Episode 1: The Phantom Menace higher than The Deer Hunter can't be taken seriously
Can't argue that there are some good films in the Empire list, but Episode 1? Seriously?!

I haven't watched the whole list but I if i'm stuck thinking of a good film to watch, perhaps something I wouldn't have thought of watching IMDB is great for recommendations.

I haven't checked out all of the Empire list but I'd generally be more inclined to go with the IMBD list, it's not perfect of course but it generally has enough people voting to get a reasonably fair average. There is however a tendency for more recent films to be slightly overrated but this usually sorts itself out over time and hits a more realistic level - there's some that I'd still disagree with of course but overall you could do far worse.

The biggest problem with list such as this are that they're subjective to the viewer.

These.

I like to use Rotten Tomatoes as well as IMDB to get an idea on films too.

Of course they're subjective. But as a list of films to give your time to, they're better than picking at random, aren't they?
