Imei blocking

If I get a network, say o2 to block a phone's imei.... does this block the phone across all networks, or do I need to also call all the others?

IMEI identifies the phone, sim card identifies the network. Blocking the IMEI will block it for all networks.

All networks in the UK I suppose, or whoevers signed up to their blocking network.

When you report a phone stolen/lost via its IMEI number your network will add it to a central database. Long story short a phone blocked on one network will not work on any number. However, once sent abroad the phone will work as blacklist data is not shared internationally.

Around 6 or 7 years ago, i bought SE P900i back home and then I came to uk...phone stopped working ...came to conclusion that it had to be stolen in uk as it was blocked in here...
