Does anyone know of any broadband ISPs that can offer immediate activation?

Im moving into a new place and I need to sort out short term net access..and i need it right now so i can get other stuff for the house sorted..

Ive looked at zen but im not sure how long activation takes...If possible I want it to start today...

Can anyone help me? :o

If not...can anyone recommend a dialup isp that doesnt need software and just needs a phone number to dial?

arg...ok cheers guys...

problem is im interested in the sky broadband but i cant get that till i setup my sky TV package and i cant do that till i sort out my telly stuff...which i cant do yet cos i only closed on the house today and i havent got the keys yet..

does anyone know any more info about the sky broadband? has anyone got it activated yet?

im pretty stressed at the mo hehe..

i reckon ill go with the zoom 56k for no...i just hope ive got a modem lying around somewhere..

Activation requires a physical connection at the frames in the exchange, which BT have to schedule. In BTs ordering system for ISPs there is a option to fast track an order (you have to provide a good reason) but unless you're very good friends with someone senior at the ISP they won't do it for you.

Best I've seen done (with the fast track) is 3 days and i had to do a lot of shouting at BT to see it done. Best without fasttrack or damage to my vocal chords is 5 days.

I signed up with newnet for my grandmother. To my utter amazement it went active in under 2 days.

Think there must've been a seriously non-busy day in the middle of lincolnshire!

They changed my ukonline connecting from BT in 3 days.........2mb for £30 to 18.5mb for £30!!! no brainer really lol!

I've had activations done in three days but it doesn't happen often. Generally 5 working day's would be considered the norm.

You back in the UK for good now Balddog?
