Does it always make more financial sense to use the gas for hot water?
Current setup:
- Terrible old 12KW boiler, F efficiency rating.
- 3KW immersion heater
Current only using this for hot showers.
- Takes 30mins to heat the tank via gas to a suitable level, water lasts forever
- Immersion heater seems to take less time, get much hotter, but run out quicker
Can anyone fill in my basic knowledge and offer advice?
Does it make more sense to just use the immersion heater during the summers if all we want the boiler for is 2 showers a day?
