immersive games

I'm in need of a game to immerse myself in since running into a bit of a rut, rehashing games I've played to death. Preferably I'd like it to be multiplayer, but I'm open to all suggestions.

please however don't say WoW, already done it

No, C&C3 is worthit the campaign is really good i think and defo worth the buy in my opinion.

They're old, but Starlancer and Freespace (1&2) have pretty immersive SP campaigns... same with Mechwarrior 4 and Mechwarrior Mercenaries.

Oblivion maybe? Stalker is VERY immersive if you can run all the graphics at max. Such good effects and lighting, and once you get to the bar the game is amazing.

Oblivion maybe - but some people find it slow and boring.

Personally quite enjoying Tomb Raider Anniversary right now.

There is always the F.E.A.R games, GRAW on the FPS side. I know a lot of people slated GRAW, but if you got the pc to run it, and install all the patches, I think it is a fantastic game - and I am not that big on military based games. Can't wait for 2!

+1 for Tomb Raider Anniversary, loved it. Kept turning it off and 10 minutes later wanted another go

But if you are wanting MP, then maybe another MMO since you liked Warcraft, maybe LotRO which a lot of people tend to love at the moment. Or, if you like FPS games, try something like CS:S or Quake

System Shock 2 - most immersive game ever. It actually made you feel lonely, abandoned, and light years from any help.

I found EQ2 quite immersive, allong with very stressful at times. It's still worth a try, but the £10 a month puts a downer on things

I found company of heroes really good, but im a fan of WW2 so its not to everyones taste.

Try call of duty 1, better then the others.

If you have a PS2 Alundra 1 was very good if you fancy a bit of old skool

seconded. only just started playing it. im just past the science deck, after meeting up with that guy to get his key card, shorty after that he dies and two shotgun hybrids bust in.
