Immobiliser - which and where?

Hi folks,

Well I took the plunge (here) and have got hold of a forester t/tb. The only downside is that my insurance company want a certificate showing the car has an immobiliser fitted.

The previous owner has fitted an alarm that looks like it came out of the Ark and doesn't appear to have an immobiliser, so I'm looking at something a bit newer.

Does anyone have any recommendations (or brands to avoid)?

I'm also looking to get it fitted out here in the far north of Scotland - either in Thurso, Wick or on a daytrip down to Inverness. Any ideas? There is a Subaru dealer and a Halfrauds in Inverness who are going to get back to me with prices but I'm open to most suggestions...

Cheers

I needed a CAT 1 alarm to get insurance,
I picked Toad.

Clifford is the other one to look at

look out for installers turning down the ultrasonic sensitivity,
I could stick my head through the window without it going off.
I took it back and got them to fix it.

I didn't like thier wiring either - 'soldered joint with a wrap of PVC tape'...
If it was me, I'd use heatshrink.
