iMove help... PLEASE!

Does anybody else remember when iMovie used to be a great, simple platform for editing movies...? WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO IT?

I am driving myself insane trying to figure out how to have a basic fade to black at the end of my movie.

Can anybody tell me how this is achieved whilst I am still conscious?

Ok, I have found out why this is so difficult. It's because I am two clips side by side, and apparently iMovie isn't able to fade them both out to black. ARGH
