Ok folks I got a panny HD camcorder which plays to my plasma brill. But when I transfer the video to iMovie the image shows blocky shadows or downgraded video how do I prevent this pls?

Folks I am having no success on getting my video off my HD Camcorder to iMovies using the High up setting I get the yellow triangle warning saying something about computer not good enough and image may be downgraded or something like that.... I have a MBP 2.16ghx 3 years old

Am very shock that the software section does not get much help compare to hardware I bet ifi post this in hardware I get more response but mods won't like it

Have you considered the fact that perhaps the message you're getting is telling you the truth and that there's nothing more to add?

You're trying to import and work on full HD video on a three year old laptop and the software is telling you that your computer is not good enough and the image quality may be downgraded.

Your problem is that the "image shows blocky shadows or downgraded video", which is exactly what you've been told by the software.

So the way I see it, you've described the symptoms and the reason perfectly, there is nothing more to add apart from "buy a new computer" and as you've posted about four threads asking for advice on new systems, I reckon it's about time you did it :)

Ha ha how did I knew a Don would come and post :)

Anyway what I cant understand before I import through iMovies when I watch a preview of the movie before import it shows it good but it goes funny when it imported... Is this to do with the Encoding when it importing? and with my computer not being up to scratch could this be the reason why?

If I got a MBP 2.4 Duo 2 Core I just find it hard to see that little difference will help? Or is the graphic card too?

I am just trying to understand how these things work. Hope you can help a little further.. As I do try and save money as much as I can but if I need to spend there be it.....
