you see a lot of people who import their games and consoles, and its something i've never looked into...

but i'm curious, to play imported games (from say japan) do you have to have an imported console, and put up with foreign characters (as in the text) onscreen, and also have me mess with various power supply issues?

and if so, does it mean you can't experience that feeling of nipping into town and picking up a new game? you have to always buy from abroad?

basically, i've never understood why people go through this kind of hassle just to have a game a bit early, isn't console gaming all about the plug and play simplicity and not over-complicating things? pc's are there for people who want to faff about...

anyway, these are just the thoughts drifting round my head when it comes to imported consoles, but i'm asking if this is all completely off target? in my head surely no one would buy a console if they couldn't play games purchased in their own country?

starting looking into getting a white console and quickly found that it wouldn't be able to play uk region blu-ray and dvds... so thats enough reason to put me off ;)

why couldn't they bring the white one out over here the stingy buggers

do people not get import tax?
hit 'n miss mate tbh, i probly get shafted on around a third of the things i get from abroad (never bought a game or console though)...

think it depends on if its been marked as a gift by the sender and the mood of the person processing the item...
