Hi All,

I'm thinking about getting a Famicom Edition Gameboy Micro imported from Japan. However i'm a bit concerned that the power supply will be 110v - Is it possible to sort something out so that I can use it over here? i.e. A Step down converter? I've also heard they come with a usb lead for charging them? in which case it wouldnt matter about the 110v psu.

Cheers,

If the Micro has the same power adapter as the DS or GBASP then you could just use a British charger from either device, as far as I'm aware.

You cannot use the ds/sp charger as it has its own smaller connection.

You can buy chargers for about a fiver from hmv. It will be fine on you japanese one (I have the one your after).

There is an etailor on ebay at the moment selling micros for about 65 quid with a power converter. There not ahrd to find on ebay, i didnt persoannly use them but they just put their prices down, so it looks likea great deal.

Would this do the job then?

Yes they work fine, I have one of those too, but people always say they work slower than a real plug. Like I say hmv have unofficial adapters for sale.

But unless your getting it cheaper than 65 then id seriously check out the ebay thing, they even give you a free ipod sock.

I think its the only real portable system out of every handheld out today. Has the best catalogue of games but obviously its limited now that not many new games will be released by the end of this year.

However you can get probably 20 + amazing games on gba. They look great, have all the features you'd want like high battery life/ recharable batteries. I think that if the micro had been the original GBA it would have dominated the world by now like the ipod does.

So yer I like them, I just throw mine in my pocket where ever im going so if I ever get stuck for a bored minute just play a little wario ware/castlevania/metroid/zelda etc

I may be coming across as somewhat of a fan, but I really cant fault them.

I love my psp and DS, but they are just too big in my eyes to take out unless im going on a long journey with bags. Still if portability isnt your main need then look at a ds or better still wait till march the 3rd and get a DS lite imported. Then you get a sweet compromise on size and ability to play gbs and all the new great ds stuff.

I got a Micro last week - just want to second how fantastic it is. I'm hooked on street fighter 2 all over again :p

I no longer had my ds or psp and I can actually take this thing out with me in a singlel pocket!

I've only a handful of games - Must haves from my experience are

Mario Kart Super Circuit
Super Mario Advance 2
Street Fighter 2 something Edition
Tony Hawks' Skateboarding is surprisingly good too

I've heard good things about a title called Astro Boy, but haven't played it yet?

astro boy is awesome, Treasure make it (Ikaruga creators), as with every game they make, its awesome. Check out gunstar future heroes made by treasure too.

Mario and Luigi: superstar saga
Zelda: A link the the past and Zelda : The minish cap
castlevania series
Metroid Fusion
Advance Wars <--- One of the best games on gba

Cant think right now, check out

For what gamespot thinks are the best games, which I have to say I largely agree.
