Importing 360 games

A few of the lads at work have recently been chatting about importing 360 games from other countries to play on their UK 360's.

I was always under the impression that this wasn't viable due to different formats (NTSC/PAL). I know nothing about it but I have seen those terms thrown around.

Can someone explain more about it, whats the difference between them and can they both be played on one 360?

Some are multi region releases (like COD games).

Some companies like activision, thq are more likely to be multi region, but you can never be 100% sure till they come out.

If you order before they come out, they work out about £24 delivered.

NTSC cant be played on PAL consoles, dont even think their is a freeloader out yet to do so.

MOST 360 games are region free, indeed most of the games i own are american/jap. MUCH cheaper and theyre out earlier!

Its rare for a game to be NTSC/PAL locked anymore, just google for a list of all region free games.

A large percentage of 360 games are region free so they will run on UK consoles. All EA games are region locked though, so don't even bother checking any of those out. There are many 360 regional compatibility listings out there so do a Google search.
