just wondering if anyone has placed an order on yesasia.com?

Really want a DS Lite but don't wanna wait (no patiance I know)

how much could you get stung by on import tax?

and after buying the DS LITE I supposed I will need a step down thing for the charger. how much are they? do they sell them on yesasia.com?

How much are we lookig at then to import a DSLITE and Step down charger thing including P+P and import tax?

Just wanted to ask in a new thread so if there are any other people like me wanting to import one they can get a good estimate on how much it will cost.

Thanks Luke

You'll have to pay VAT @ 17.5%, import duty which I think is around 10% and quite possibly a handling charge to whoever delivers it (which should be nominal), $199 (DS Lite price) = £114 which means £19.95 in VAT, £14 in import duty and whatever else the carrier charge for the hassle.

Step down/up transformers are normally fairly cheap, you should be able to pick one up for $30 imported

You dont need a step down for current usa/jap versions of the Nintendo DS. The UK chargers seem to work fine. This should be the case with the DS Lite but im not entirely sure that it uses the same power connector.

No it doesn't.

the DS lite doesnt use the same power connector, you need a step down liksang do them for like £5 I got my DS Lite Navy on order with them

There is no import duty with orders placed with yesasia, as they have a UK based shipping office.

You just need a stepdown convertor and your set.
