Importing Nintendo Wii

Does anybody know if a US Nintendo Wii will work online in the UK? I would think it would be similar to the DS and PSP as they both have WiFi capabilites?

Should work fine, though the console is region locked so if you buy a US console you couldn't play UK games.

IIRC if you had a US NTSC Xbox you had to play on US servers?. Might just be me but i'm certain i've seen it somewhere on a gaming forum a while ago?.

i thought it wasn't region locked, but developers could choose to lock it if they want. sure i read that on IGN yesterday

I don't think it's worth importing. By the time it gets here and what with the extra shipping costs you may as well wait the extra few weeks for it. Unless of course you're going over there around that time.

oh yeah, i read the article on IGN that said it was, but they've reported again either today or yesterday that it's not now. i stand corrected.

and also, no, i wouldn't import.
