importing outlook?? best way to do it ?

hi all, i have to import outlook from a laptop to a desktop, i need to take all the settings, and all e-mails (about 3 gigs worth) + addresses and such ect ect and i was wondering if there was an easy tool i can use to do this ?? its going from winXP to winXP.

You can import and export inside of Microsoft Outlook.

First of all you need to archive your email, 3gb in a PST file is just asking for trouble.

You can just move the pst file across to the new machine, however it will not move email accounts over, those will need to be done manually unless you have some 3rd party software

If you find a prog to export email setting/accounts out and then import them back from outlook. Please let me know.

I've used Eastsea Outlook Backup for a while now with no problems. It exports and imports everything in outlook.

Acronis TI Home 11 does a decent job of backing everything up within Outlook
