Importing sim data to iPhone4

Hi, I've just purchased an iP4 for my girlfriend. Is it possible to import SMS data from her sim card onto the new phone? This worked fine for her contacts, but there doesn't seem to be an option for SMS. Can it be done?

Unfortunately she's lost the data transfer cable for old phone and when I connect via Bluetooth from mac I can't browse the messages unfortunately.

Don't think that is possible. If she had an older gen iPhone you can restore to the iPhone 4 via iTunes. Any other phone and I don't think it's possible due to the way the iPhone stores SMS but I may be wrong.
