Has anyone done this? Is it possible? Is there any way we can convince OCUK to import them? Yewen, did you mention that they arn't in Europe due to failing safety standards? Have you got any more information on this?

For those who don't know what a Windy case is, here is some case pr0n;

I recon the screws/rivvets just make it look more industrial and mean. You should see the inside as well, looks really well made.

Not sure about the red inside though, would have been better all black IMO.

Ive only seen the bottom end case, and it completely owns the v1000+ for quality, and I do not say that lightly at all.

Hoping the S80 is along the lines of this.

Since having the Underboss promotion I am less at liberty to discuss this, but I will what I can. :p

They do not have the certy for being safe in the EU, so they are not able to be sold or distributed in the EU. You also can not sell them second hand, or at least are not meant to.

To ship one over it costs silly money, and they are silly money in the first place.

That is unfortunately all the information I can afford to say, please don't email me about it as now with the UB status I will not even hint at any help.

Sorry guys. :)

Getting these through a retail channel is an impossibility at the moment sadly.

One.

They go for in excess of 300% Japanese value here, when they are here.

Although I must point out it is complete illegal to sell them in this country, period, so can we please avoid discussing this on the forums.

Don't want to have to say it, bit of impartial moderation, and that is not aimed at anyone but me in the thread either, I edited my post as I was the one pushing it. :(

Seriously, I too am wondering what is wrong with them safety wise ... maybe tey don't deburr the edges and as a result has razor sharp innards?

haha most kids self harm anyway, they could play pc games and doit at the same time selling gimick i say

I don't think the cases are unsafe, it's that the manufacturer won't pay / can't afford to pay for the necessary testing to be carried out to get them approved as safe to sell in the EU.

thats exactly it, the cases are very very well made and are certainly no where near the safety hazard of some coke can cases currently on the UK market.

the problem being the cost involved in gettign all the paper work - red tape - blah blah. The company obviously don't think the expense of going through all that red tape is worth it.

These cases would have to be CE marked , that manufacturing approval can cost a fortune.

Without that CE mark it is illegal for ANYONE to sell them for use within the EU

I was in Osaka last week and the studio i was working in had 3 of these, so i did get a very good look at them. If peeps drool over the quality of LL's, then you will cream yourself when you see these. To get them in the EU will take a firm that wants to distribute them in the whole EU, then it will be worthwhile getting them certified. And no i did'nt get one, i had to much other stuff to bring back.
