impressed with linux mint

hi

tried linux mint 14 yesterday from a live stick and then decided to install it

been using it today and i am very impressed with it

it just feels so quick compared to my windows 7 install

and the fonts seem a lot better now

only thing i am missing so far is skygo

anybody else running the latest release and pleased with it?

I thought it was OK but it wasn't any 'quicker' than my Windows install. In particular anything video intensive like games and hi-def video were pretty shoddy in terms of performance and Vsync control.

If you're new to Linux, enjoy the learning process. Mint is a great distribution to start off with.

Yeah, its generally wishful thinking that X product is quicker than Y.

Which version of Mint is it? The last gnome version I used was awful I thought.
