Hello

I just thought I would post as im very happy with the results of my new Sunbeam cooler.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-000-TQ

I upgraded from a very good Freezer 7 Pro and had a massive temprature decrease on my [email protected]. Also it is very quiet at about 75% speed using the included fan controller.

Freezer 7

Idle : 45-50
Load : 55-65

Sunbeam

Idle : 25-30
Load : 35-45

Just thought I would post my results as there isnt many reviews/information about the Sunbeam out there(well not as much as other coolers)

Here is a little pic, I didnt relise it would be so damn big(its a lot larger than the Thermalright True and about double the size of the Freezer 7 Pro.)

Yes thats right the load now is actually less than idle before. The fan is silent up to 75% speed then gets a little loud.

The installation was hell but only becuase of my motherboard which hass random heatsinks scatered around which made getting into the clip hard but I know for a fact its just the 680i as i have seen many other boards and know it would fit in a few minutes.

I think the installation hell was worth it though due to the massive temprature drops. Also it's a "hot" Core2Duo and not one of the super cool running e8xxx series.

Quite a nice temp drop:cool:, is it possible to add another fan for push/pull?

I wouldnt have thought so due to the angle of the back of the heatsink.

Oh and another big plus for me was the installation system. I didn't want to take my motherboard off but didn't want the crappy Intel push pins. This uses a very similar method of installation as the AMD heatsinks. I had to put a little adapter in place using a modified Intel push pin system (much better) and then the heatsink went on using the AMD system of 2 clips. Its 100% solid and not flimsy like the push pin system.

I have one cooling my q6600.

Temps idle are around 25-27 deg at 3.4ghz, and peaks at 47-49 deg under prime, with 1.45v. My first 775 cooler so i'm a little bias towards it, but those more familiar with 775 coolers have been saying great things also... :)

I managed to get mine for £22 on TWO a few weeks back. Absolutely worth the price it is now. :)

I know what you mean regarding the push pins, i cant stand them. I was previously using an acf7 pro but the push pins were a nightmare to fit, hence the change to a TRUE black, i had looked at reveiws of the sunbeam (like the core concept base idea) and thought about geting one, but none in stock at that time. The mounting also sounds like a good solution.

Ive heard good things about this heatsink too, thats a really nice temp drop. I had the opportunity to get one for £20, but ive got a TRUE so i didnt see the point :S.
