Hello
Im sorry if this has maybe been posted in the huuuge crysis thread, but its really helped me out, so i thought i might as well share it. It can be moved to the crysis thread if the admins think it will be better recieved there.
Anyway.
I had noticed my fps wasnt that high after i had been changing a few settings in the nv control panel, like the way its rendered, afr1, afr2, etc.
If you completely uninstall your nvidia drivers (use driver cleaner if you want, i didnt and it worked fine) and re install them ( i use 169.09) and ONLY ENABLE SLI, do NOTHING else whatsoever in the general settings, go to the crysis profile. you will notice it says the method of rendering is 'CUSTOM'. Leave it as it is, and do not change anything.
see picture
Start up crysis and you should see that sli is being better utilized in game. I went from the mid/high 20's with a custom config, even dropping below 20 at points, to the high 30's and mid 40's, even approaching the 50's. A definate improvement if you feel sli isnt working 100%.
Anothing point is that it seems to use sli more in heavily wooded areas and forest. A good thing i suppose.
Here is my system:
xp 32bit
q6600@stock
2x8800gt@stock
2gb geil ull
crysis patch 1.1 (not that it really made a difference from vanilla...)
here is my config that i use as well.
