Hello! I just got my Asus DirectCUII 6950 and had to clean up my case a little, as well as having to cut a chunk out of my FDD+HDD bays to fit the monster ;P

I'm planning on getting a new air cooler for my CPU to replace my old freezer 7, i was looking at the Akasa Venom to be exact so along with that i want to get some new fans to improve air flow but i dont know what the best config for it would be.

This is my current set up
There is a 120mm fan at the bottom to the right of the HDDS but you cant see it in the photo!

when i get my new cooler would it be advisable to get a second fan for it, as it can take 2?

thanks
N

At around 30-40% fans on idle it sits happily at 40-45C but my room is around and under load it hits around 55 with fans at 50%, the fans are really quiet on it, the cpu fan is much louder its only around the 85% that it gets noticeable. Those temps are with two screens up at 1680X1050 so the card is in essence using twice as much ram on idle. Ive tried it with one screen on the card idles around 32C.

i thought as much when i bought it but the E8400 seems to be keeping up quite nicely in most games its solid at 60 with vsync on, im upgrading to an 2500k in a few months anyway.

ive ordered the cooler and 4 120mm fans, 1 for the front, 1 for the rear exhaust,
should i put 1/2 fans onto my sidepanel as intakes ?
