Improving Line Stats - No sync

Over the last few weeks i've noticed my line stats getting worse and worse. The DS margin (snr) is normally at 25 and attenuation is at 36.
Over the few weeks the DS margin is changing from 22 down to as low as 6. Attenuation stayed the same.

Today I woke up to find my router not syncing, it is plugged in directly to the socket. I have changed filters. I phoned BT and they said to remove the face plate on the phone socket. I've done this and it's now syncing but the attenuation is at 42 and SNR is between 13 and 6. It's now getting a lot of CRC errors, currently at 175 errors and it's been connected for 2 hours.
I am on a 2MB connection.
Since this I have also had a phone call cut out and most calls have a crackly sound.

I'm just wondering if there is anything else that can improve the stats without getting a BT engineer out.

Thanks
Lee

Thats defo a BT line problem.

What wrong with getting an engineer to come out? If they find the fault to be a fault of their own then the problem will be sorted free of charge. However if the problem is caused by your equipment you will be charge 50 quid i think it is.

Thats why I would prefer not to get the engineer out, don't want to him to come out then say the problem is my router or something and charge me £50.

I will phone up BT and report the voice problem and see what happens.

Thanks

I phoned BT and they have tested the line and said that there is no problems. After this my router has been syncing straight away. The DS Margin/SNR is now staying between 0 and 3 but the internet is working fine.
This is making me think there is something wrong with my router, surely if it was at 0 it would not connect.

I found out the problem wasn't my router, tried a friends old USB modem and it still didn't work.
It's been working fine and syncing straight away for the last few days but today it has been really bad, this morning it disconnected and wouldn't sync again for 2 hours and now it's disconnecting every 10 mins and connecting again.

I phoned BT and they will be sending an engineer out to fix it before this saturday, £64 call out charge (if it's not a BT problem) and they will charge you another £70 if they help fix it. What a rip off.
Really hoping it's a BT problem.
