Hi, I got a new digital video camera (mustek dv3500) a few days ago for £40.

The sound quality on the recordings are not good, it is very quiet and there is a hiss in the background. This is a video clip with sound, it saves them as .asf files.
I have had a look on the internet and found some programs that will remove the noise from mp3's and wav files but I can't find any that will work with video files.

Does anyone know of any programs that can improve the sound quality in video files.

Thanks

Basically you should be looking for a program that can extract audio from the video clip and save as a MP3 or WAV. VirtualDub is one program which I know does this, both on AVI's & MPEG's (MPEG2 version). Don't think it works on ASF files though, unless you use another program to convert to MPEG or AVI first :)

EDIT: Have a look here.

Thanks, i'm looking at the link now, there seems to be a lot of info on how to repair audio/video and remove unwanted noise.
