Hi,

Is there any way that I can improve my download speeds when downloading files?

When I download files that speed will be between 25kb/sec and 35kb/sec.

I have a 16mb connection (although it does not run at the speed!)

Thanks :)

could you explain more.

which provider are you with ?

also your provider might be throttling your connection or have bandwidth restriction for peak and off-peak.

also depends on other factor, such as the source you are downloading from. it it is a server from USA etc then downloads will be somewhat slow.

I'm with f2s (Freedom 2 Surf).
I have down a speed check and my download speeds are coming back at around 8mb.

I download a whole host of thing but the latest file a download was a patch for a game from Sports Interactive.

Try using a download manager to max out your speeds, the place where you are downloading from could be limiting it, not your isp

What are you using to measure those speeds?

What do you get on http://speedtest.net?

Those are very low speeds, but chances are its the server you're downloading from, downloading from a server in another country, or from sites on shared hosting will give much slower speeds in general.
