Spec is in sig but if i wanted to add on another HDD Which do you recommend? (would an internal one void the warranty?)

Also is it worth upgrading to a 7950GTX at some point or wait and see what kind of mobile solutions become available. At the moment the main problem is that things like the 8800GTS GTX etc require monster PSUS which is not feasible with laptops but im sure some companies are working on ways around this.

Ive heard of a new external PCI-E sorta graphics station that you can use with some laptops. Its bulky but its an option i guess. (i think the company is a competitor though so cant mention em).

atm i feel i need more hdd space (im down to 15 gig left) and possibly in the future upgrade the core duo to a T7600 c2d. Perhaps its best to get DELL to do it for me? (and thus avoiding voiding the warranty?) But i dont think DELL sell/install components separate from actual laptops.

An internal hdd upgrade is probably a good start, Hitachi make good laptop hdd's so you can stick with them if you like, Seagate would another excellent choice.

I think you are a bit confused about the Graphics Card, it is very unlikely that you could upgrade the internal graphics, like you can with a tower PC.
You refer to the ASUS external graphics card with connects via the Expresscard slot, which could be an interesting addition.

Upgrading the new CPU would be another option for the future, but i'm not sure where you could get hold a Merom C2D CPU.

Plus I doubt Dell do upgrades as in the same manner like an aftermarket provider.

The graphics i have on the system are dedicated graphics card which is upgradeable (albeit not by much!) and the thing is its possible for me to return the system to dell to get them to put in a go7950GTX graphics card. For example if something goes wrong with my graphics card before end of warranty. Yet afaik DELL dont provide an aftermarket service like you say.

Another route is that i know of a shop that sells DELL refurbished components and stuff (same place i bought the laptop from) so i might give them a call and see if they have compatible parts in stock and then install the stuff myself.
