I saw a 1700 for a price that was too good to pass up so am 1/3 of the way to my next upgrade (coming from a 3570K/16GB/290). My original intention was to actually buy a 1600 and pair it with an X370. I remember seeing the likes of 8 Pack saying it would be better to get a better mobo now as it will pay off when upgrading to a new Zen on AM4. So should I go all out for a top of the line, overclocking, X370? Which fits this bill (I am a sucker for RGB)? Same goes for memory. AM4 platforms can now run >3GHz? I think I might like to purchase 2 x 8GB sticks now so I can put another set in later as I don't want to purchase the full 32GB now/soon.

I have an NZXT Kraken X52 to cool the 1700 - can hopefully get it to nearly 4GHz.

I Have a Gigabyte Gaming 5 AX370 and 16gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200, i got the 1700 oc'd running at 3.8ghz with a H60 and the memory running at 3200 with the F6 bios

I would go Asrock Taichi X370 and 8GB of team dark pro 3200Mhz 8Pack mems.

The better boards have better vrm solutions so are more likely to handle the next generation cpu's better.
