Okay okay :o

So I was out and about the other week and picked up a PS3 slim 320 GB, with the move starter pack and FIFA 11 (having queued for sodding ages for this on my xbox 360 :p) and then picked up a few games.

Not really used to the PS3 pad quite yet, last time I owned / used one was with my PS1 back in the day :)

I've picked up;

FIFA 11
Little Big Planet
Modern Warfare II
Heavy Rain

*Would like to add it all looks stunning on my panasonic Viera through the HDMI*

Just any tips for a new PS3 ? *Vet PC / xbox 360 gamer

Any must have titles? *Driving games don't float my boat.

I'm on PS3 online? or whatever it's called, if you want my user name I'm happy to stick it up.

Big thanks in advance, Tummy :)

Welcome to the PS3 club.. lol

Seeing as you've got the move controllers, download the heavy rain move patch for a start..

did you get a navigation controller? you can use your DS3 pad, but a navigation controller with Heavy Rain and the move controller is 100x better overall.

I also recommend you get -

God of War Collection
Uncharted 2

some PSN titles that'll make you move around are -

High velocity Bowling
Planet Mini Golf

As these use the move kit. Tumble is also quite addictive, and fairly cheap.

Might want to consider Resident Evil move edition or even sports champions are good for move.
TBH there are loads of games for PS3, good time to get one..

Look around, have fun with your new console.

I can't say I'm a fan of Ressi Evil tbh.

I'll take another look at the move things, I found my Wii got old quite quickly, but I'll give Heavy Rain a go with the move stuff (had to update it and pick move or controller)

Really enjoying Heavy Rain, only got in a few hours today but it's looking good.

Little Big Planet seems bright, silly and decent fun.

Still getting used to the pad, it's really different from the xbox controller.

I'll have a look at Uncharted, always like to play the first game before any recent editions.

I'll defiantly give Metal Gear a try :o my friend's always telling me how much he enjoys the games.

Uncharted first, then Uncharted 2. Really wish people would stop recommending the second but not the first.

why? The two aren't linked, they are two seperate games that don't share the same story or even continue on from each other.

Uncharted actually has some techincal issues, bad screen tearing and I felt just wasn't as much fun as the second.

Hence, reason why some recommend uncharted 2 over uncharted.

But if it makes you feel better..

Uncharted - if you don't mind screen tearing and a lot more duck and gun action.
Uncharted 2 - if you want rock steady graphics, better story (IMO) and a damn fine game. Again IMO.

Metal Gear is very heavy on cutscenes. Good game though.

Heavy Rain gets much better towards the end.

Mirrors edge is very cheap now, wierd type of game but somehow works.

Call of Duty World at War is a good blast on the PS3.

Can't say I ever noticed any significant screen tearing on Uncharted, having played it through twice. I simply can't see any reason not to play Uncharted first.

As for story, Uncharted 2 might not directly continue on from the previous game but they're not separate games; jumping straight to Uncharted 2 means you're going to know less about the characters and their history. Fairly important in a story-driven game.

I would still say start with uncharted 1 as its a release title that still blows most current games out of the water (for both gameplay and graphics)

You see I played the demo of Uncharted and I noticed a LOT of screen tearing. But then I do notice screen tearing, I see it all the time. Its something I wish I didn't see as it does tend to ruin a few games for me..

I guess screen tearing is the new pop up.. Remember Wipeout on the PS1? How the draw distance was low, and you could see the track draw in front of you?

Wipeout HD is running at some weird 1080p res and not a single pop up anywhere, yet it does tear in places... Yet hardly anyone sees this, but I do... lol

Anyhow, yes maybe get uncharted, then uncharted 2. But I played uncharted 2 in one sitting, could't put it down - was an amazing game from start to finish and highly recommended...

Totally agree with TheVoice - you learn so much more about the characters in Uncharted which is skipped over in Uncharted 2 - its makes the second less special not knowing the characters inside out after the first...

ps3ud0

Will pick up Uncharted on pay day then :)

Thanks.

Still can't get hang of the new pad :( FIFA 11 is proving a steep learning curve.

Played through Mirrors Edge on my PC and xbox controller. Enjoyed it.

Any games coming soon? Other then COD 7
