Yes thats right, at the end of april i will receive my last EVER student loan as im in my third year.

I looked at my spec and it looks like my processors holding me back a bit.

I recently installed a new water kit which has brought the temps of my 3200 down to around 33C which im more than happy with, although i wanted to get the most of this watercooling kit and get a CPU that i can tweak a little.

Now this is where im stuck, im really unsure whether i should be going for a dual core or not, and then i dont know whether i should be going for an Opteron or Athlon 64.

Ive seen the great overclocking results that everyone is getting at the moment from Opterons, but will i be able to acheive this on my board, considering its an Asus?

Im looking to spend no more than £250 on a new cpu, and the one that most matches what im after is the Opteron 165, but will this overclock?

If anyone at all can help me it will be great.

Thanks

Haha, thanks again Welshtom :D

Yeah im not looking forward to a life without regular cash injections any more.

I looked at the 4400 and it looks like a beast, bit more than what i was wanting to pay for though but i might be able to stretch.

What sort of speeds are people getting from these?

Yeah i managed to find that in another thread in the end, although someone stated that the Opteron 170 is a similar chip.

Just looked on the OCUK website, and their both the same price, so whats the difference between the Athlon 4400+ and the Opteron 170?

Im confused :)
