Well the charger for my Samsung Galaxy S decided to blow and took my phones charging capability with it. So the phone battery can only be charged externally now.

Well now i have been hovering over the buy button for a Iphone 4S 16GB what is £500 on the Apple site.

I still have a year on my Galaxy S contract left, so not sure if to just stick it out with changing the batteries over and wait for the upgrade, and maybe just buy a Ipad 2 for time being.

I feel that i need to try out apple hardware but not sure on what to do.

Can you put your own music on either device? And can you use bluetooth properly yet?

Would i hate it if i really like how Android works?

I've no experience with Android, so I can't comment if you'd like it. What you can do though is take out a contract with Vodafone and return it with 7 days for a full refund and cancellation. If you like it, then go and buy one from apple, if not stick with what you do like. this'll give you a chance to have a good play with the iphone and see if it's for you.

Ah, just ordered a Ipad 2. Checked how much these re-sell for and they go for £350 so not much of a hit if i decide i don't like it.

Can't you get it repaired? was it insured? the iPhone is a really nice device, yes you can put your own music on it, although iTunes will own your soul because it's a pain to switch from iTunes (especially if you spent 2 weeks organising your entire collection) and no bluetooth on the iphone cannot be used for file transfers yet

Reason to not get a Iphone is because i may as well just stick it out with the Galaxy S. Yes the phone is insured with my bank but i have used my 2 insurance jobbies for this year.

So left me to just get the Ipad 2. Will probably sell it on in a week, impulse buy to just see what crack is with Apple Tablets and phones. Or maybe my uncle might be right and ill love it, we'll see.

Thread makes no sense, i know :p

Guys can you tether on the iPhone 4s? Very important factor for me.

Proper love this IPad, I think it's wicked. Sick of my SGS now as it is acting up in other ways now. So think I will be ordering a iPhone soon from the apple site.

Cheers

So if you have a year left on a 2 year contract surely that means warranty is still on for the Samsung. Have you looked into it?

Incorrect, you only get 1 year warranty or that prospect would defeat the purpose of insurance. I work in retail.

It's actually 2 years with Samsung manufacture warranty on phones. I have had my phone fixed by my insurance company for a broken screen and because it wasn't done by a Samsung shop/place, I have lost warranty on it.

Samsung have a 24 month warranty on mobile phones, 12 months on accessories supplied with the phone, just check on thier website.

Hmm! now what's that I can smell?

As far as I can see you then have a case against your insurance company for not having it repaired by an approved Samsung repairer.

What is it you can smell? What's we ocuk and smelling stuff lately? New craze?

You really think Samsung will have it back under warranty after seeing it logged down as being fixed under insurance twice? Once from launching it and once from accidentally standing on it? The phone was a annoyance before these as stated in a very old thread of mine somewhere. I very much doubt Samsung will care though.

Also, to be honest with you i couldn't care about getting it done under warranty. I fancie a new phone and after playing on my iPad, i want a iPhone. Just need to make sure it has tethering so I can link iPad and lappy to it.

That's fine, but why all the smoke and mirrors over the Galaxy? If you want an iPhone or iPad why not simply say so? You would have had a case against your insurance company if they had your phone repaired by a non approved Samsung repairer. All your posts achieved was to create confusion.

As an aside, my daughter has recently gone the other way i.e. ditched her iPhone 4 and got the Samsung Galaxy S. She is loving the freedom of an Android phone and thinks the Galaxy is a first class alternative.

Ah i should never post in a morning, always in victor meldrew mode.

my posts are always confusing as i can't put sentences together properly. :p

Didn't know if it was worth swapping from a SGS to a iPhone as i was having jip with my SGS and fancied trying something else out. Then went and bought a iPad and fell in love with it and now my SGS has been giving me even more jip. So now i will be getting a iPhone.
