In a relationship, Do you follow your Head or your Heart?

I always live by the idea that follow your heart and you'll be happy. So far it's serve me well, but in a situation currently where my head is telling me if i follow my heart i will most likely to get hurt in the end. A friend who knows the situation quite well agrees and i already told him he can tell me "I told you so" when the time comes.

What do people here do generally? always follow your heart ? Or just do the logical thing?

I followed my head (and something else) more than my heart, as I tried to think of things logically (i.e I dont like being single, Im going to get a GF) and recently split up with my GF, it didnt work out very well as she wasnt the person I thought she was. I say follow your heart.
