In app currency in dollars

Just set my Dad's new phone up but in apps that show currency i.e Gumtree and Amazon the currency shows as dollars. These are the UK version of the apps as well and the apps don't have any settings in them to change currency.

Does anyone know what I need to change?

Factory reset and go through the set up wizard? was it a new phone purchased in UK? is your dad in the UK?
