In app price showing $, but Marketplace £

Which would be fine is the $4 was becoming around £2 at the Android confirmation point, but I am getting a flat convert to the same amount, so $4 in the app is becoming £4 at point of payment.

This shouldn't be happening, should it?

Does this happen with other apps with in-app purchases?

Historically, I've always got the converted price at point of payment, though this is the first purchase I have made with my new tablet.
