any thoughts on which is better,to do it in camera or do it with LR5,this is with raw images.
also does aperture have this adjustment as I've not seen it in there as yet?
thanks.

Do it in lightroom and set it up to automatically apply the adjustment on import.

Sometimes you might want the lens distortion. If you have the camera apply the fix then you're stuck with the fixed image AFAIK

The in camera adjustments don't affect RAW so if you shoot rAW do it in LR. Also, many of the adjustments like disjoin have side effects such as reducing edge and corner sharpness, cropping image. If the photo is not badly affected by the aberrations then it is best to leave it. Things like vignetting are not a big issue or even desirable for portraits, but you might want it removed for landscapes or architecture, so best just to do the corrects on an image by image basis.

thanks DP.apparently in raw it tags the file assumingly for canon DPP adjustment later.
will take your advice and English and leave the setting in camera off.
cheers
