As I have a new toy on it's way to me though I would ask a quick question. What do most of you do with the in camera picture settings? With my old 1000D I just left it on standard with all the default settings for sharpness etc but is it worth tweaking things like the sharpness on camera or is this best reduced to 0 and all done in processing?

Aha, shows how much a noob I am still! So being that they don't apply to RAW images I guess I can just ignore them unless I can't be bothered with PP and switch to JPG.

Thanks!

Yep. If you are into post processing then get used to working with RAW files. Also do a bit of research into reading the histogram correctly (don't overload yourself but learn it sooner rather than later - it will pay off trust me)

I used to always shoot jpg, but raw has saved me so many times now, the ability to change exposure later is a god send, also gives you the ability to do HDR from one RAW file, for times when its not possible to take bracketed shots.
