I didnt know which forum to put this in, so i put it into general, if its in the wrong one then please move it.

Im looking for a new pda cradle as the one im using is rubbish, its the one with the sucker for the window, then about 30cm bendable tube thing, and the cradle, but it wobbles when im driving and it rattles, i like the shorter ones which holds the PDA without moving.

Anyone got any reccomendations?

I have one of those. I took the bendy part off (mine was detachable - just leaving the actual section the PDA sits in) and made a simple metal mount which goes into the heater, it works great with no vibration at all :).

Cool, ill try and do a DIY Jobby on it :D

Can you tell me how you made the metal mount?

Yep. It's basically a thin (1mm) piece of metal wrapped in tape. It's really simple, and was a quick 5 minute solution but works great :).

The long bit slides into my heater vent. Also, as the metal is fairly flexible you can bend it to the angle you like.

If you dont mind spending a few quid then Brodit make holders and clips for most models of PDA. The clip you buy is designed specifically to fit your car, with no screws so no nasty holes left behind. Also, if you change car you can just buy a new clip and mount the original holder on it.

ive got a suction cup jobby, but its short and does the job

very little movement, especially considering the harsh ride of my car

I agree 100%.
Over the years I've spent so much on cheap holders that snapped, fell apart, wobbled around, got in the way etc.
I bit the bullet and stumped up the £50 for the Brodit combination and would never use anything else. They fit brilliantly, are tailored to the specific car and are solid as a rock when fitted.
As brok said, if you change car, you just buy the proclip for the new car and transfer the cradle section over. The proclips cost between £10-£15.
Couldn't recommend them enough. :)
