Hi,

I am currently in the market for a new pair of in ears for work. The included AKG's from my Galaxy S8 are no longer cutting it.

I have a pair of the Sony wh-1000xm2 headphones, and love them. But they are a bit big for kicking about my work, and I don't want to take them into the smoke room, lol.

So I did consider their in ear brothers, the WF-1000X, but they are a touch more expensive than I'd like, but, more importantly, they are apparently no good for watching movies / tv shows and the like. This is something important.

I also listen to a fair bit of music. Usually techno, or various shades of techno. So good bass is a must.

Budget is ideally around £100. Less is better, but I can push a little if there is a significant difference.

Been looking at the Sennheiser Momentums, and the Sure SE215 (I think). Also saw a decent price on Focal Sphere S (I think). Anything else I should be considering?

I've got the Sennheiser Momentum m2 ieis and they're good. I use Comply ear tips with them because I don't really ever find that standard ear tips give me a decent seal, but with the Complys they are a nice pair of earphones, as long as you don't expect quality to match your Sony headphones.

Oh no. I am not expecting in ears at 1/3rd of the price to match up in any realistic sense. But I am hoping for a significant improvement on the bundled phone ones.

I have been leaning more towards the Senns anyway, since I have a pair of HD25's I love too. I also have a pair of Allen & Heath XD2-53's at home too, for reference on other sets of cans.

But just wanted to hear back if there is any obvious choices I am missing. I fly a lot, so can pick up in duty free if the budget needs pushed a little though.

You could check out the 1MORE Triple driver earphones, they're £78 on Amazon and get good reviews:

Then there's a set of KEF M200s on sale for £60 from Amazon, seems like a very good deal:

There are a few outside your price range that might be worth checking out too. There's the Mee Audio Pinnacle P1 earphones:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/MEE-Isolat...-1-spons&keywords=mee+audio+pinnacle+p1&psc=1

And Bowers & Wilkins C5:

Sorry to give you so many more options :p

No problem. Thanks for the other suggestions. I'm a fan of the B&W sound, having 2 5.1 surround setups both running B&W speakers, so might actually go for these C5's.

Now to see if I can find them in the airport on Sunday, or wait until I go away again. Or just pay the money...

Actually, decided, at £90 off, the KEF's seemed like a rather good deal, and reviews generally seem positive about them. For sitting in a smoke room they will surely be all I need. Hopefully.

So I ordered them. If they ain't up to it, I'm sure I'll get most of my money back at that price can't even find them second hand cheaper.
