at the moment, i'm using etymotic er6 (or something like that) headphones, but i find their build quality to be pretty shabby...i can't move my head without them going all crackly and being generally crap.

can someone give me a few decent pairs of headphones for all-day-every-day usage...they'll be being removed frequently, so they need to be rugged, and they need to be noise-cancelling because i ride bmx. preferably around the £50 mark, but i'll look at something slightly more if i need to. they're only for use with an ipod and i'm not a pretentious audiophile so they don't have to cost a grand.

cheers :)

Do you want noise isolating or noise cancelling? I'm confused :D 50 isn't much for some decent headphones imo.
You could go for the Super.fi 5 Pro's, if you want to spend real money. Spending 100 - 200 doesn't make you too much of a 'pretentious' audiophile :)

Edit: Ignore me, thought the Etymotics you had were noise isolating, not cancelling.

im presuming he just wants noise blocking, not cancelling, for that money. You wont find a lot for that sort of money, but id say go for the sony ex90's. they arent *** best noise-cancelling (ex71's are better) but with some modding they are pretty much just as good, but the key difference is they sound MUCH better and because of the design they stay in the ears, unlike my old ex71's which used to fall out every time you moved.
