Im new sorry!! :(

what speed do you have your fans set to? my GPU temp is at 60oc at the mo goes up to about 70oc in games

what info do i need to look for on PSU to find out if its powerfull enough?
all i no is its 400watt

i just have the case that came with my pc mate all i no is that my PSU is an atx model dont no if atx is something to do with the case type, im not sure what u mean by passive cooling? i have set the fan speed to 80 and the temp is about 60oc at the mo on my desktop with 50 proccess running. i would like to maybe install another fan as the only ones i have is the one on the graphics card and the one on the PSU, the only problem is i dont no how to fit them

cheers mate

Liam

i would like to install a really good cooling device if anyone has some good advice on which ones id be very greatfull as i would not no where to start

many thanks

Liam

passive cooling is where a large heatsink is used to cool the card without using a fan, therefore being silent - however in cases with low airflow they tend to have problems.

Open your case, you may find that the heatsink on your graphics card is loose and causing the high tempertures.

which part would be the heatsink mate? you have any advice on a good reliable cooling system?

If you look at this http://www.*****.net/content/item.php?item=4458&page=4 as an example, the heatsink is the black area with the fan- the stock cooler is meant to be pretty shocking on them.

For replacing it, something like the Zalman VF900 for £24
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Zalman_System_Coolers.html would be great, however it all depends on how much you want to spend. You could just see if the cards heatsink is properly screwed on, and then decide if the noise level is bearable for you.

the first link didnt work mate as for replacing it do i have to take the fan of the graphics card and put a new one on?

it would help to a certain degree, why not try taking it off and then monitoring the tempertures at idle/load and see if it makes a difference.

will do mate just wanna say thanks for your help you been great can i just ask what temp is yours when u are not doing anything mine is 55 normally and can you tell me what cooling things u have

cheers mate

That could be your problem as you've got no cool air being circulated in your case. Do you know what case you have? There should be space to fit an intake fan - fan at the front sucking in cold air - and an exhaust fan - fan at the back blowing out warm air. Fitting these will probably make a big difference, and is cheap and easy to do.

Yeah for an x1300 that is hot, my x1800 XT idles at 59 (when in windows), and when im gaming only goes to about 71-72, which is normal for the x1800, and theres no way an x1300 should get that hot as the x1800 XT is a lot more powerfull.

I agree with the above, a couple of fans, 1x intake, 1x outake will probably make a world of differance, as at the moment the hot air from the card is going nowhere, its trapped inside the case. :)

cheers guys i found out the case type i have its a packerd bell altissimo chassis case, im not sure how to fit new fans would you be able to help me out and give me some advice on the fans i need?

cheers guys
