I have a bit of a problem with my rig!

I have recently replaced my phenom 965 BE with a FX 6350 and my old GTX560 with a HD 7870 and my games are stuttery as hell and keep crashing.

It crashes at stock on the cpu and while overclocked!

LOL stutters, as does Fifa 14... Titanfall don't but it crashes sometimes, but no problems in Thief or Black Ops 2.

I have ran driver sweeper and got rid of ALL nvidia drivers and installed fresh AMD drivers and updated since then as well.

I have ran an 8 hour prime 95 test on my 6350 at 4.2ghz and not a problem and temps never go over 50C due to my CM Seidon 120M hydro cooler!

I have tested my memory, ssd and hdd and not a problem either... I am running a defrag on my SSD atm, just incase it could be that.

Any ideas?

Never necessary to defrag an SSD by the very nature in which they work.

As you've just upgraded the CPU and GPU I'd suspect the PSU naturally. Even though it's a good brand name it still may be worth testing with another.

You shouldn't defrag your SSDs - they have limited reads/writes before they die and defragging involves a lot of read/writes.

Have you tested with both sticks of RAM individually? I know you said you ran tests, but you didn't specify which ones.

Also, search 'msconfig' and disable all start up start up items. You'd be surprised how many issues that solves.

Using latest BIOS for the board? Tried setting power control to 20% in ccc/amd overdrive? And enable xmp for your memory in the BIOS if it supports it

Only one bios available

Xmp... I will enable it

I have set gpu to.constant voltage

Hd tune states ssd is fine

Last resort it a.reformat

Power control just raises the cards thermal limit, two of my cards need it at 20% or they crash in games,so its worth testing

Hmmm... Might try it in morning then... Just strange how my games are jumpy after brand new more powerful hardware is installed.. I thought driver issue at first

what version gpu drivers? beta 14. something or 13. something?

use display driver uninstaller program and do a clean install, makesure you update the c runtime packages that sometimes come with the game, that might help

I got something like this the other day, fixed it by putting my win 7 disk in, selecting upgrade then installing. Means you dont have to reinstall everything after but it repairs the files.. Your Directx could be corrupted like mine was but dxdiag wont show it!
