Evening all
So I have the following set up in my home:
1gb BT internet using 2 x Eero 6 routers.
1 router downstairs going to a TP Link switch with four Ethernet ports: 1 going to Philips hue hub and three going to Ethernet ports to each of the rooms in my house.
Port one going to another TP Link switch with four ports:
1) PS5
2) Apple TV
3) Sky Q
Port two goes to the main bedroom where the second Eero is which has another Sky Mini attached via Ethernet.
Port three goes to the office (unused).
Port four Childs bedroom (unused).
Going back to the TP link switch in the front room. Using Ethernet I get maximum 100mbps on both the PlayStation and the Apple TV.
At the main bedroom I get approx 700mbps.
Office 180mbps.
I purchased an Ethernet cable tester and it just does not work at the other end of the living room wiring (no lights light up).
The main bedroom does work using the tester.
Now here is where things get weird.
If I plug an Ethernet cable in to the TP Link switch in the front room the PS and Apple TV get 850mbps.
If I unplug ALL the wires the TP link in the front room STILL works at 100mbps, however the bedroom doesn’t. I just cannot work out why I have 100mbps in the front room when nothing is plugged in. As soon as I unplug the router though, no internet downstairs.
Has anyone got any ideas? I can take photos or answer any questions and I hope I make sense in my explanation.
I really am struggling here.
