Im after a laptop for work, majority of the work is done online (SEO) but will also need to run a few programs like office. My main requirement is 4Gb of ram.
Could anyone give me some ideas for ones to look at? I dont really have a budget so to speak but i dont want to spend £500+ if i dont need to. I just need it to be able to run programs like office and run smooth on the internet since this is where 90% of my work is done. I would like it to be future proof for a few years though.

Thank you

Will you be lugging it around much? If so then I'd be aiming for < 15.6" screen. I use a Sony Vaio 13.3" laptop and find its size very usable. I cart the thing all over the world and its lasted me 4 yrs so far without fault.

There are some PCs that have the option of EDGE/GPRS/3G/etc connectivity but of course you can always use a mobile broadband dongle/subscription if you still need t'internet on the train/ in the wilds.

You can pick up a Acer Aspire 5741 for around £350. I bought one last year and once you remove all the crappy software that it gets bundled with it's spot on.

It does way a lot more than a Macbook air though. I imagine you'll need to find the right balance between weight, performance and price.

Took your advice and bought an Acer 5741 :D just waiting for delivery now. Thanks for the advice all.
