Woke up this morning to find my 'trusty' Asus N55u WIFI has packed up, so, as you've probably guessed, the house has gone crazy!

Anyone have recommendations?

Up to £100 - I do like to have the tweaking options too. SNR etc. - ADSL2

The best asus you can afford. Having tried asus and also netgear nighthawk x6 even the cheap asus is lightyears ahead of the netgear rubish. I have the AC87-U its over your budget but spectacular bit of kit. Just find the best asus you can for £100

Yeah i was looking at that actually. Whats your connection like? Sync speed etc.

I know thid doesn't have the SNR tweaking, but if it syncs well...

Mine is a good connection with this router with the ASUS I had a sync speed of 2.7 meg with the TP-Link I have a connection of 3.5 meg but it is very stable.

Don't touch the Asus AC68U, unless you're lucky you won't have a good experience with it as the modem on it is very temperamental. Check the thread in this section.

Yeah spotted that mega thread earlier!

Currently using my old DG834GT with DGTeam firmware.

It does the job for now, but need something a bit more modern with the ability to tweak!

Let us know mate mine has been great and the wireless range on it is excellent for me

Arrived and all setup.

Havent got around to testing wireless range yet. However, I've finally got all the devices downstairs (PC & Laptops) to connect to the printer through the router. Something I couldn't get to work on the N55U

Quick Line stats show:

Max Sync - 15.5Mb
Current Sync - 13.5Mb
Upload - 888Kbps.

Speedtest gave me a download of 11.35MB and an upload of 0.75

The ping has dropped by about 10ms, down to 24MS now.

Sounds good may you want to ask your service provider to alter your profile to see if it will up your sync speed, be aware that this may make the line unstable.

Yeah was thinking about this.

For some reason when they switched all the hardware in the exchanges, they moved everyone on to interleaved 8ms profile. SNR at 9db, where previousley it was 6

I would get them to get that altered then to 6 and see how you get on, have you had chance to test the wireless side of things?
