Hi,

I bought one of the cheap mini dv cams that u see on ebay for aroud£10 to use as a helm cam in motocross and today i used it to record but heres the problem.

The first file i have is called SUNP0001.AVI and it works fine it lasts a few seconds of me pressing power button and checking records etc.

But the second file called SUNP0002.avi is 1.2gb but lasts around only 20 secs and just as i pull off on bike it cuts out.

I have 2 other files 3 and 4 which are around 700 meg each that dont even seem to be recognised as avis yet they have the same file names ans the first 2.

Ive tried different codecs , virtual dub etc but nothing i do can get any footage out of them.

Im pretty keen on getting the footage because the last file had me crashing hard and id liek to see it ;)

Any help would be much appreciated.

First off I'm going to make it clear I know nothing about the type of camera you're talking about.

I take it they store the video onto a micro SD card or something similar?

Firstly try downloading GSpot and see what it makes of your files:

hi, ive already given gspot a try and the file that half works it confitms as aavi but the others are unknown.

ok, so i tried the programe u linked and it shows my file that cuts out as 12 mins long but i can only watch 1 mins worth, the other 2 files just show up as 700 ish meg with no other details.

I have a small program which fixes the header on AVI files.

Bad headers can cause playback issues.

You could try it on copies of your files (keep the originals just in case) and see if it does anything.

If you want a copy e-mail me via trust and I'll send it over.
