Evening all,

I am hoping someone could tell me whats wrong with my PC..

I installed a Corsair H50 in to my PC yesterday, and everything was working great, CPU temps dropped, noise dropped - i was happy.

So i woke up this morning and turned on my computer, but nothing appeared on the display. This evening i have had a look to see what has happened, but i am absolutely stumped.

When i turn on the PC, it makes all the right noises, the fans come on, there are no error beeps from the MB, but 5/6 attempts nothing appears on the display, eventually after many reboots it will work fine, and i can boot up into windows and everything is back to normal. But then i restart and, hey presto, nothing on the display.

I thought it was prob the gfx card, so i swapped it out with my old 8800gts, and exactly the same thing happened, i then swapped the monitor with a spare, but again, no fix... Rest of spec:

Q6600 @3Ghz
4GB Geil Ram
Asus P5Q Pro
Sapphire 4870 1GB
Zalman 600watt PSU
corsair H50

If anyone has any idea what is going on, then please let me know!! I am completely stumped!

Cheers all!

BIOS conflict

It could be the BIOS settings that conflict with the RAM settings. Sometimes these are changed and can cause the screen error. I would check the manufacturer default settings match exactly to what is stated in the BIOS. Failing this it could be the FSB clock speed is too high for the RAM. To check this i would reset the BIOS to the default setting and clear the CMOS.

first of all you should check all cables are securely connected in th computer. A loose cable has often been a cause for similar issues. In particular test the main hardrive (the one with the OS on). Also check the Ram is properly seated and that the connections connect fully without any particles preventing connection.

Try a CMOS reset - this has worked for me many times with issues similar to yours.
Keep a record of you bios config so you can correct it after the reset

cheers guys,

I think i may have been the Sata lead to the HDD (cheers Akempster). I have unplugged the cable from the MB, and it has booted everytime since. Just got to search around for a spare now!

Thanks again!
