In Need Of Ultimate Power

Your giving a woman a more powerful card than you.....

The day a woman has a faster pc than me is the day the earth stops spinning

ok mate, the 8800 Ultra....i'd give her then 2900 tbh

If you really want Ultimate Power then (ignoring multiple card solutions) the 8800ultra beats them both :)

However if this is a xmas present you would be much better off waiting 5 months. By then prices will have fallen and new, faster hardware may be available.

or wait til november-ish time when nvidia release new cards again

btw what kind of games does she play? girls only seem to like "god" games lol

She plays a lot of starwars galaxies, final fantasy online, evil genius and a few fps's aswell.
lol they really that demanding? is she going to be playing crysis?

wow one min you have a girlfriend that loves pcs as much as you my x *** like a rose and a kiss (cheap xmas for me ;) ) more then a gaming pc

Damn... and I thought you were going to be recruiting evil henchmen!

8800Ultra is the best performer. But bang for buck 2900XT all the way.

As it's a christmas present then we can't really tell you what to get until you order it in november. There'll be newer better cards and the current ones will have dropped a chunk in price.

My wife (when she was my g/f) started playing WoW just to spend time with me (on my PC!), as I played it way to often. I stopped playing WoW about a year or year and a half ago as it was becoming daft with the time spent on there. She still goes no about how she wants to play it though lol.

I bought an xbox for her as she expressed interest in one, but she doesn't even play on it.

What sort of gamer is she really? Does she REALLY care about quality graphics etc? Maybe you should just buy her some flowers and treat her more often mate. Be more romantic than buying a PC (like treat her to a weekend away somewhere).

Matthew
